How about showing nature some love?
Instead of only plundering and exploiting her, why don’t we give back?
You do reap what you sow.
I pledged today to nurture this bundle of spring flowers. What about you?
Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when life is simple and uncomplicated?
You’re probably thinking, ‘Yeah right! If only!’
Well, a sure-shot way to a happier life is de-cluttering. Notice how you have 25 cups in your cabinet, but really only use 3? Wouldn’t that cabinet look far more chic with, say 5 cups?
One of my favourite rules to discard my stuff is, if it hasn’t been used for six months to a year; off it goes. New or old. It deserves a better home. (which is sometimes the trash can)
Oprah Winfrey first introduced me to the benefits of de-cluttering and she sums it up in this lovely piece here.
Wondering how to start? Here’s a helpful guide.
Happy 4th advent sunday!
Let the countdown to Christmas begin! 7…..
Reconnecting with nature is always rejuvenating. Take a walk today- in the company of another or your beautiful self.
If the weather permits, walk bare feet. On sand or grass or mud or for brave hearts- on snow. Walking bare-footed has astonishing results. Even in as little as 5 minutes.
As you connect with nature, disconnect from everything that beeps, pings, notifies, rings and reminds. You get my drift don’t you?
I wish you a Walk to remember…. Check this for a walk I will never forget…
Most of us see stars when in love or in pain. Wait a minute, isn’t that one and the same?
Jokes aside, I think it’s a beautiful exercise. For the eyes, body, mind and soul.
As you see, I feel rather poetic today. And I know exactly why….
For me, there’s no better reminder of how tiny a piece of the universe I am, than staring into a twinkling night sky. The magic of inky heavens dotted with silver promises of hope. Surreal!
If you, however, are not amused and find faults in the stars, at least allow yourself to be awed by a full moon-which is tonight. In fact, it’s the last of the three supermoons in 2016. Go out there and be a lunatic! 😉
I’m off to scribble some poetry… ciao!
Happy 3rd Advent beautiful people!
Today’s all about getting flexible and fit, the fun way. I love Yoga, so for me it’s trying my hands and feet and neck and hips at the “CROW” or Bakasana. Take to the mat, the bike or the track; and get those bodies flowing again.
It’s easy to get stressed, over-eat and out of shape, especially in the holiday season. No time you say? What if someone told you that you could be Fit in 5 Minutes? I love this routine. Perfect for the lazy bum and the procrastinator- not to say that’s who we always are- just that the holiday season can have this effect on us.
If the suggestions above are no inspiration to you, how about the picture? Sketched by the brilliant cartoonist Mario Miranda, you see a traditional goan Toddy-tapper or Reindeiro doing what he does best.
Motivate yourself out of the no-exercise slump today and feel great about yourself!
Happy exercising today and happy muscle ache tomorrow! 😉
Time to wake up the Fashionista/o in you. Our drab world could always use some colour and cheer.
I added red, green and white as options. You could wear any one or two or all three if you like. And while you’re at it, feel free to throw in tinsel colours- gold and silver.
No harm looking like a Christmas tree in December, huh? 😉
For those thinking, “NO WAY!!” won’t you please make my day by wearing at least a tiny colour of the season? Perhaps a scarf, a tie pin or a ring.
Worse case scenario, you could definitely achieve red. All you got to do is expose yourself to the heat or the cold and voila! I bet you’ll give Rudolph a run for his money!
Stay colourful, stay happy! Until tomorrow…
Eat a Red Apple.
Because it honours two, no three important days that all fall on this first day of December:
Jokes aside, that red apple you eat today will go a long way in helping you fight off the holiday fat.
In case you’re wondering, “What’s the point of this seemingly pointless exercise?!”, maybe this will help.
Back to apples- I find them fabulous as lightly baked Apple slices, dusted in powdered cinnamon and sugar. They don’t just taste good; they taste of Christmas! Try them. Ah well, for those that favour a healthier variation of today’s red apple; make a milk-less, sugar-free smoothie: Apple, cinnamon, water.
Stay healthy, stay happy, eat an apple. A red one. #NationalEatARedAppleDay
1 down 23 to go, see you tomorrow…
